Toad Stool Party Bag

On our property in Sebastopol these cool red mushrooms showed up last winter, and again this winter. I discovered they are actually the same mushrooms that the mushroom emoji is taken from 🙂 Winter can be so drab and these stood out as something to celebrate, a beautiful addition to the landscape. As I painted these two and the smaller mushrooms around them, I imagined what could be happening underneath their caps in a make believe world… So I added a “toad” or actually a tree frog (which we see often) as the first one to show up for the adventure yet to happen.
