Anticipation, 9in x 12in, Original!

A friend invited me to join her in France for vacation. She had lived there for 20 years and wanted to share her love of the country with me. My birthday gift ahead of the trip was a book of all the bookshops in Paris. In anticipation of the trip I painted this still life, featuring the book and complete with a postcard show casing the Eiffel Tower. It was my reproduction of a scene I watched Patrick Saunders paint as part of a seminar. The lemon tart was purchased at a French bakery in Glen Ellen, Les Pascals.
