Arrival of Spring, 36in x 24in-Original!

On the coast of Sonoma County, CA, a new hiking trail opened this spring. We have enjoyed the view of the mouth of the Estero which we hadn’t seen before! I loved trying to capture the bluffs looking over the Estero and to the South toward Dillon beach. I thought the painting would be about the irises in the foreground, but as I began painting, I found the sky and its resulting shimmer stealing the show. I even found myself imagining the clouds as an angel blowing a long trumpet- perhaps heralding the arrival of spring.

This painting is 24in x 36in x 1.5, and painted on all sides.
