Bloom Where You’re Planted, 20in x 16in- Acrylic on Canvas, Framed Original

Upon returning from France, I wanted to try and capture Irises in the style of Van Gough. I got to visit the sanatorium in St. Remy where he received care, and painted so many beautiful masterpieces, including his irises. Imagine, my delight when the irises were blooming in the garden there! I took photos of the purple irises and then added the yellow one because his painting includes a white one.  I found myself wondering if the white one in his was there or if he added it as well… He lived such a tortured life managing his mental health, all while producing amazing works of art. This yellow iris glows in the sunshine it reflects and encourages me to bloom where I’m planted.

This original painting is acrylic on canvas, 20in x 16in by .5in and is framed in a gold frame that is approx 1.5 in wide all around.
