This bright butterfly is named after the Woodsworth poem, Splendour in the Grass. A famous line from the poem says, “though nothing can bring back the hour of splendour in the grass, glory in the flower, we will grieve not; rather find strength in what remains behind.”
Although we grieve, we can find comfort in the legacy our loved one left behind. Also, when things change bringing sorrow for what once was, we can find joy in what now is as it can be wonderful too- like a caterpillar turning into a butterfly. May we see the beauty of today, and not waste our time looking backwards.
This original painting is acrylic on canvas, 8in x 8in x .5 in, painted on all sides. It comes in a black frame.
