Spring Joy 18in x 14in- Original!

My husband is a wonderful gardener and grows all kinds of flowers for us to enjoy. Irises are a favorite as we had them featured in the bouquets at our wedding. This amazing one he purchased from a sweet older woman who had spent her life growing irises of all colors. When we purchased the tubers we weren’t really sure what we were getting. Imagine our surprise the first spring they bloomed and all these pinks burst forth! I photographed one for the thumbnail image for the blog and then later painted this from that image. It’s named Spring Joy, as it reminds me that joy can spring forth at any time.
